MEM presents a group show which showcases the diversity of Japanese photography spanning from the pre-war period to the present selecting certain movement or style in the history. The show starts with a group of photographers involved in the avant-garde photography movement in the 1930s, such as Osamu Shiihara, Sutezo Otono. We also feature some artists who produced rather experimental abstract photographs under the influence of Subjective photography movement in the 1950s such as Shigeru Onishi. We will also exhibit a few contemporary photographers including Ken Kitano, Kenzo Motoda and Ayano Sudo.
