For the inaugural edition of Paris Photo New York, the gallery is excited to feature an installation of photo-based pieces illustrating both the unmapped boundaries and rich history of the medium. Included will be John Chiara’s negative chromogenic images of New York City made with his custom 50"x 40" camera; Meghann Riepenhoff’s reinvigoration of the cyanotype tradition; sensorial tableaux by Sarah Anne Johnson who freely experiments across media and ways of image-making; Daniel Gordon’s new vision of the portrait and still life genres through his process of physical and digital collage. New works by Pieter Hugo will also be featured from his newest series La Cucaracha and its exploration into the themes of sex and death across Mexico. Finally, a special preview of Hassan Hajjaj’s retrospective opening in Fall 2020 will be on view featuring his travelling site-specific installation Le Salon.
